Puente Hills Mall
Once a bustling retail hub in the San Gabriel Valley, Puente Hills Mall opened in 1974 and gained fame as the filming location for the "Twin Pines Mall" in the 1985 film Back to the Future. Over the decades, the mall housed major retailers like Macy's, Sears, and JCPenney. However, shifts in consumer behavior and the rise of online shopping led to a significant decline in foot traffic and store closures. By 2025, only a handful of businesses remain, including AMC Theatres and Round1 Bowling & Arcade, leaving much of the mall eerily quiet and vacant.
